Notes:

For Czech Republic, EMCDDA Selection D was used instead of the national definition. National definition also includes poisoning by psychoactive medicines, which accounts for most cases.

For Austria, the number of cases were no autopsy was performed in the official number of drug related deaths is included (201 instead of 177).

For Portugal the data is still provisional.

In some countries, the ‘national definitions’ of drug-induced death include a limited number of cases of deaths indirectly related to drug use. See Methodological notes in the 2013 Statistical bulletin.

Although all cases are included in 'N', in some countries not all cases have information on toxicology. The proportions have been computed as valid percentages (see Table DRD-1).
